What Happened Here?

This is the back wall of a dry cleaners' building that closed about seven or eight years ago. I never noticed this damage until today. The break seems to have come from the inside, not from, say, a car in this parking lot behind it. I have no information about what happened.

I've been doing this blog for a month now, and the challenge so far has been having more pictures than I have days to post. I'm thinking that feeling could change after a year passes, especially since this is a small town.

I have the same feeling sometimes too: that in some time, I will not have anything to show anymore. I post from a small town too.

I don't think it will be so thought: I'm sure that our creativity will make us go on!

Now that is an interesting photo!!! I know what you mean about a small town! My hardest part is getting out without my kids to take photos.

Congratulations on the one month anniversary. I suppose you can be very selective in your choices as we all have the same kinds of problems. More photos than days. LOL

W h a t is trying to break out of the wall? Mystery!
Keep us informed, eh?

Nobody knows about the actual incident, but someone suggested today that it was hit from the outside by a vehicle, but that something on the inside prevented the damaged wall from collapsing inward. That might explain why it bulges out, but with a "dimple" pushed in the middle.

I'm in favor of some sort of dark primordial force welling up from the netherworld. Do you really think it's just a coincidence that this building was formerly a laundry? You just watch - it'll turn out that this was built on a desecrated Native American burial ground that has turned mean because of years of cleaning solvents draining down into it and all the imps of hell are about to be released....

Benjamin, I'll bet you're right.

Or maybe this is what it looks like when buildings get zits.

Zitgeist!

I really admire these minimalist photos of yours (this one and Ornamental Grace, Windsor Mill, Action Packed, Railroad Avenue and Abandoned Railcar) and I hope I will take some soon myself.

You are very kind. Your slideshow reveals a nice mix of simple and complex. One of the first things I notice about you was your attractive Arbutus.

I've been doing this 2 weeks and I am already have mixed feelings about the quantity and quality of my photos. I fear that I will have to resort to photographing my latest pedicure. I thought I had a lot of photos, but realize that I need to have a huge variety to draw from. I think I just need to Paris and give Eric a run for his money. A great photo on every corner.
