Mendonesia Wall

I strolled past the open door of Mendonesia Cafe recently, and spotted the late afternoon sun illuminating the interior wall through a window I photographed before. The owner currently displays artwork done by some Mendocino College painting students.

Last night, an accordionist named Amber Lee rocked the house.

The red bricks, the crooked painting, the two chairs... oh, this is eye candy. I love it.

I notice things like light, shadows and textures so much more now that I am doing more photography. Sometimes it's maddening and I wish I could "turn it off" for just a little while!HA
I like your photo today a lot. There is so much going on to look at.

I love quirky and artsy little cafés and bars, especially when there's a performance. Mendonesia sounds like my kind of place. :)

Nice artwork on the wall. It seems to be a calm and joyful cafe.

My god, Baldrick, she coordinated her outfit with her accordion. Or maybe the other way round. Will she play Misty for me?

Really do love the light on the brickwork, looks like a nice place to settle in for a cup of coffee.

Laurie, Virginia, Hilda, Meead, KG - Thank you all. The owner has a fine concept going, offering light, organic meals, desserts, and coffee and smoothies, while staying open late as an alternative to the bars. I think he's trying to attract a creative crowd, and one that's comfortable for young people. I need to remember to check out one of the monthly poetry readings he has scheduled. Being middle aged myself, it's not yet clear where the older generations are intended to fit into the mix, but the audience for Amber Lee looked like my age group. Time will reveal the identity it will form.

Mendonesia rocks!

Time to come up with some crazy ideas for happenings there.
