Ice Cream Remedy
It has been hot, hot, hot in Willits (107F) for the last few days, so a salubrious visit to JD Redhouse for some ice cream is just the relief anyone could need. Sweets, pet supplies, blue jeans, and horse tack, all in one place. I found a nice little tooled leather billfold that I just had to have, and then settled down for some deliciously zippy ginger ice cream. Here's the Animoto of more pictures.

Ice cream is always the answer!
Ginger ice cream sounds like a real treat! This summer wild cherry (natural) has been my favorite flavor at scoop shops. Followed by the Baci as in the chocolate. Oh no, now you've got me craving some!
A sweet tableaux! Your new wallet is lovely. I like how the pattern stands out in relief in your lighting here. Keep cool whatever way you can.

Stay cool, lovely Elaine. I really like this still life -- and I covet that wallet!!!
Wow - 107!!! That is hot. I hope it's dry heat at least. With the humidity here in Mississippi, even 85 is sometimes unbearable.
Ginger ice cream sounds delicious.
The three simple elements here make a pleasing photo. Have you tried green tea ice cream?
For some odd reason this pic makes me want to mash the wallet in the ice cream then smear it all over my face. I need help.
Any western styled (tooled leather) watch bands in Willits? I've been looking for such a band.
Oh, this looks great! Nice shot, Elaine!
Sounds great but with those temperarues you better lick real fast!!!!
You said "salubrious" and "horse tack" in the same post. If I weren't already married I'd propose to you.
Yum. Love ginger ice cream
hehehe
"Louis" et Mme. la Vache just returned from 'Ici,' which makes ice cream on premises. That Ginger ice cream sounds great!
"Louis" is VERY picky about ice cream. He only likes 2 kinds: homemade and storebought.
Louis La Vache is very funny!
:) We had a rainy day yesterday, on Friday. It was really a pleasure to have a summer rain. It made the weather cool.
Saretta - That's really what it all comes down to. You are a wise woman.
Z - Natural cherry is one of my favorite fruits too. None of that candied and artificially colored stuff. An ice cream maker over on the coast made an award-winning flavor called Black Forest, with cherry and chocolate. Yum! Must be a regional specialty over where you are.
Kim and Laurie- I really am enjoying the wallet. It slips out of my purse and into my jeans pocket very nicely. Cooler temps promised for the weekend!
Halcyon - It's dry up until the sun goes down. Then the humidity goes up even as the temperature goes down. I usually break an uncomfortable sweat around 6 or 7 o'clock, and stay close to the air conditioner.
KG - Thanks! Green tea hasn't grabbed me yet, but the ginger sure has. 8^)
Ken Mac - You have a very unusual mind, don't you. I confess, smearing ice cold anything on my face was the sort of thought that was relevant.
PA - I don't recall, because I wasn't looking. I'll bet an online western wear outlet could be helpful. It looks like it could be an interesting craft to learn.
Kelly and Jules - Thanks, the ice cream didn't last long at all. The air-conditioning at JD Redhouse was worth lingering in, however.
Petrea - Now see, I was feeling all full of myself for using "tooled leather" and "zippy" in the same thought. You're better off with John.
Mo - It seems to be getting more and more available. It's that hot/cold combo that sells it.
Louis - Glad to know you are so sophisticated in your dairy selections! The ice cream at JD Redhouse is made by Cowlick's Ice Cream over on our coast, in Fort Bragg. Can you believe it? I can uphold the virtue of localized food by having ice cream!
P - Ditto!
Meead - We are hoping for rain, but will be happy if the predictions are true, and the temperature drops by 15 or 20 degrees tomorrow. Consider yourself lucky.
Thank you all. 8^)
Funny, I'm just eating ice cream (glida in Hebrew) when I open this post. But just vanilla on which I poured chocolate liqueur. Never saw ginger i.c. for sale here.
Did you say 107 ?? Oi veh. Take it easy there.
Horse tack? That I'd like to browse.
A wallet that fits in the jeans is the only kind.
Dina - Chocolate is always good too. I wonder how it would taste on ginger ice cream...
I tried to get pictures of the bits and halters, but the light wasn't good. I'll try again sometime, maybe at a different place.
That little wallet is gorgeous. I'm a sucker for beautiful leather.
Ilike ice cream.specially in winter.
