These Willits Telephone Directories may be waiting for a finishing slice on the printer's cutter. The "big" commercial phone books usually include both Mendocino and Lake counties together, as a practical matter in such thinly populated areas. But when you just want to know what's available within a ten minute drive, a local collection of business ads and numbers comes in very handy.

There's a local directory for the Ukiah Valley too, but it's a bit more than this little pamphlet you use in Willits.

Those directories are pretty thin! I've always found it crazy that you have to pay to not be listed in the phone book. The printers should be paying the non-listers! It saves paper and ink!!
I know how it feels, halcyon. I'm unlisted, so that means the phone company can't sell my number on a long list of numbers to the folks that want to sell me something by calling. So the fewer names and numbers they sell, the less money they make. I'm willing to pay that price.
