Sweet Treats

Sara N. of Mashhad, Iran, has given me the Blogging Friends Forever award. She is always so kind, and I am grateful for her friendship through our shared interest in City Daily Photo Blogging. And dear Meead, now of Portland, Oregon, has given me the same honor. He is a prince among men, and was the first to introduce me to his country. Now his challenge is to comprehend mine, and I wish him many angels in his adventure here.

Now it is my turn to give the award to five other bloggers, according to the following rules:
1. Only five people are allowed
2. Four have to be dedicated followers of your blog
3. One has to be someone new or recently new to your blog and live in another part of the world
4. You must link back to whoever gave you the award

My five are invited to pass this award along, if they choose to do so. (Even if they do not, I hope people will visit their blogs. Some visit Willits DP silently, others with many kind comments.):

1) Kelly of Geneva, Illinois
2) Babzy of France/Iceland
3) Afyon of Afyonkarahisar, Turkey
4) Hilda of Manila, Philippines
5) Petrea of Pasadena, California

In addition to the sweet treat of blogging friends, the organic treats in the photo above can be found at Mendonesia Cafe in the heart of Willits.

City Daily Photo bloggers have just been informed by a much admired Turkish blogger that "access to Blogspot/Blogger websites has been suspended in accordance with decision of Criminal Court of Peace in Turkey." This means that their blogs remain visible to the rest of us, but that they themselves are prohibited from logging on to those pages. This is frightening news.

Yummy treats.
Mazal tov on your award. So nice to see how blogging friendships form and then change us.

What an eclectic bunch of international bloggers!
Don't show me those sweets--I want one.

Oh, oh, oh, funny and sweet but perhaps no coincidence. Go look at my blog.

Dina - Thank you. There's a certain frustration to these "chain" awards/tags that makes me think I may not accept them in the future (which sounds ungrateful). They arbitrarily dictate limits and parameters that may not reflect the scope of my much loved visitors. But to refuse seems drastic. Oy! I love you sister.

Amy - We need to eat together, like you said before. It's time. Oy! I love you, sister.

Halcyon - I had a chocolate cupcake (lower left). 8^) Oy! I love you sister.

Petrea - Tag! You're it! (see note to Dina!) Oy! I love you sister.

I feel the same way, Elaine. I mean, I love you (and Dina!) but also, the chain awards thing. Except getting it from Monoblog, well, I couldn't resist.

A while back I saw a note on a photoblog (somewhere in Alaska, I think) where the man accepted the award but didn't pass it on. I wish I could remember how he did it. He was gracious in every way.

Hi Sis. My blood would boil if I tried to log in and got a notice of being blocked by the state. Oy is right!
Yeah, I am way behind in posting and passing on several generous awards from kind readers. I think it is my humility (humbleness?) thing.
Love ya too, Sis. :)

Thank you so much for the award, Elaine! And congratulations too! You were one of the first to comment on my blog and welcome me, and for that I will always be grateful. But more than that, I keep coming back because of the beauty and the depth of what you share. Thank you for being such a wonderful person.

But that's awful news about Turkey!

Censorship and inhibiting speech is an awful thing to experience--especially when we all need to connect to each other so badly around our little planet.

Yet, your photo is hopeful and a sweet dream for us to remember.
