Bright Eyes

Willits is blessed with an abundance of railroads. While much of the derelict equipment was removed a few months ago, some railcars have been consolidated together on a couple of tracks of the NWP, and fenced in to help prevent additional vandalism. The headlamps of this locomotive reminded me of the eyes of a spider.

Great colors and texture. I wouldn't have guessed this was a locomotive.

The colors are amazingly varied and bright on these old cars. I love the treasures you find in the train yard.

Yes indeed. Spider eyes :) Beautiful light ... though I suspect perhaps cold temperatures?

Wonderful capture. No time to do the puzzle now as the golf course is calling. But hope you had a wonderful holiday and my best wishes to you in 2009!

I also enjoy finding odd shots in the ordinary. Like the colors and textures here.

You let them take the old stuff away!??? Elaine!

This is fabulous image.

I'm too embarrassed to say how long it me to do the puzzle.

I've been away too long and that's a mistake! I've missed your photos and writing and today's picture reminds me what I've been missing. Love the colors and composition in this, Elaine.

Happy New Year!

Laurie - Thanks!

Miss H - I like the make-your-own part of it best. Hey, there are worse things...

Marc - It is a bit out of context with this close up.

P - With these on the NWP lines, plus all the stuff over at the Roots of Motive Power activity area, we are well provisioned for trains.

Chuck - You know what I've been getting here, on the cold Pacific coast with you. I watch what happens up there in Seattle for a preview of the systems that will sweep down to us.

Halcyon - Thank you! The puzzle will still be here when you have time.

Babzy - I had not even seen that! Smiley!

Bibi - I didn't even need to adjust the contrast - this is how it came out of the box!

Wayne - I feel that way with some of the puzzles too. Some days you've got it, some you don't.

PA - I was thinking of you. Horizontal rectangles are the key.

Thanks everyone!

Oh my! I didn't mean to pass you by, DC! Thank you so much for your kind words, especially coming from such an excellent photographer and writer as yourself.
