Organic Window

Mendonesia Cafe recently opened in the old Willits Bank building after it had stood vacant for several years. They've put a lot of work into refurbishing both inside and out, and feature a music and spoken word space for amateur and professional troubadours and folks who want to see them. They are alcohol free, but serve up tasty baked dessert treats, juice, and coffee. A perfect place for expressing and listening in the heart of town.

Reflected in the window, you can see the ghost of the Hotel Van. More on that tomorrow.

Ah, hence the after hours depository. Nice special O in Organic. Like for yin yang, ya think?

Interesting that Organic is what you focus on when looking at the window. Nice shot.

Interesting choice of color for cafe. Nice shot.

Dina - I was wondering if anyone would read that. ;^) I think it was just the font style, but I like your interpretation of the letter. Your inner archaeologist is showing. 8^)

Abraham - I think the whiteness caught my eye. Thanks!

iBlowfish - In life, it seems almost too gray to be coffee colored, but at least it's not some overwhelming aqua palette. Thanks!

The first thing I noticed was the reflection, which looked quite Inorganic. But then I saw the Organic, more like a postscript, asking me to reconsider.

Sounds like a cool place to hang out.

I've been known to hang out at Barnes & Noble with a cup of coffee and some magazines.

I like the look and sounds of it by your description.

Just took a cyber spin over to Ben's town, courtesy of the link in your previous post. Thanks, Elaine....well worth the trip.

Thanks for your noted Elaine.
Nice pic! The word "Organic" and its font style was the thing I noticed first. I also found that a shadow-line has devided the word into two parts, balck and blue.
I wonder what that box-like thing under the window is?

Raf - Thanks for taking a look. I read more about Mendonesia today. The owner noticed that the only places open late in town served alcohol, and he wanted a safe, interesting place where people of any age could be "out late". It's open until 11 PM, and also has salads and other wholesome food. If I have time, I want to go over there Sunday evening to hear some local poets speak.

Meead - Thank you for visiting too! That box is sealed shut now, but it was a "drop box" for businesses to put the day's accounts in safety. If you enlarge the photo, you'll see the words Dina mentioned: After Hours Depository. I like that the building still has that, even though it hasn't been a bank for many years.

Gee, this one photo is becoming a comments Rorschach test.
I can't help but looking at the letters first. You see, pre-1993 I was a proofreader, editor, translator.

Gah! I can't believe I didn't nod to Ming and The Girl!

KG - There were several other windows with other words on them, but this combined with the drop box seemed to speak most, whatever it had to say.

Ming - The owner wants people to hang out if they want, and he'll even provide a copy of the New York Times.

Dina - Pixel blots are what I offer here at Willits Daily Photo.
