Blue Phone Booth at Brown's Corner
Brown's Corner is a small complex of businesses marking the southern start to Willits' "Miracle Mile" of strip malls and asphalt - a stark contrast to northern Main Street's walkable promenades. This phone booth is one of the last full sized ones I've seen anywhere in the area, and they are rapidly disappearing in the age of cell/mobile phones. I didn't try it, so I don't know if it works.

I am like you and cannot remember seeing a full-size phone booth for a number of years. The kids used to set the phone books on fire and for that reason and other forms of vandalism, they were removed. I don't suppose they will ever make a comeback.
We don't have phone booths anymore either. It sounds funny if you think that our children will not even know what a phone booth is!!!
With the phone booths disappearing I worry where Clark Kent can change into Superman clothes. :)
Did you look inside to see if there was even a phone there? That "missing" phone thing was such a constant in Italy that I finally gave in and bought a cell phone while there for a month last year. Fortunately it uses SIM cards and I can use it with some US carriers here as well. Agreed. Times they are a changin'.
I'm surprised this one looked as clean as it does. I didn't go into the booth, but I may have to now. Through the windows, it looked like the phone box itself was still there, and the phone book was hanging by its cable-attached cover.
Superman wouldn't have gotten much privacy in this booth - I wonder what else he could use in Willits...
Phone booths are disappearing here too!
