639 in the Rain

Older homes such as this once housed loggers, mill workers, and railroaders. There are still a few of those jobs here now, but not too many. Someone told me theses houses were usually built without foundations because it was thought the town would be temporary. But Willits is still here, and so are most of the houses.

I like the fence and the arbor with the house number . . . they add a lot of interest to this picture . . . nice capture.

Hi Elaine,
When someone visits my blog I always want to find out who they are and where they come from, and look what I found! Willits Daily Photo! You really give a feel for the place and I've enjoyed perusing the blog.

I don't know about you, but ever since I got started doing this I've had a wonderful time and gotten almost nothing else done.

Thanks for stopping by my place here, Petrea! It really is a whole new perspective on the day, this Daily Photo addiction. I actually tried to photograph my dental hygienist today - she was holding up the paper bib, ready to prep me - probably a photo too far.

Ha! I've hardly even taken the trash out without my camera for the past three months!

very nice blog. i live on east coast in New Jersey. would it work for my town?
i photograph everything but the town itself, but other people might be into that. a student project perhaps. but yours is wonderfully professional but also kind and even loving.
i think I may know someone in Willits on Primrose Road. Any pics of that street?
