Parking Spot

The snow level has lifted to the mountain elevations, but here in the valley it falls as a cold, light, but steady rain. In weather like this, it's not unusual to hear the sirens of emergency response vehicles wailing up Highway 101/Main Street. As dry as our year has been, it seems drivers haven't adjusted their speeds for the slick conditions.

My wish to all holiday travelers is to stay safe, so that time can take care of itself.

Some things are just pretty.

You beat me to it!

Great oil drip! Although, actually, BAD!

You ever notice when driving through the country where ever there is a bump there is an oil patch where the bump shook off the accumulating drips?

Have a save and happy holiday.

You make anything and everything beautiful, sister.

Often the most ugly thoughtless human neglect unfortunately makes the most beautiful creative image like this.

Beautiful: looks more like a splat then a spill.

Hi everyone! It was one of those built-up-with-time oil drip spots, getting rained on. If you click on the photo to enlarge it, you may even be able to spot some rain drops falling away from the camera. The water just gave the oil a blanket to spread out on. Beside the interest in the iridescence, I liked how it shows how easily and quickly a slippery hazard on the open road can happen, just from what is already there (see Ron's comment). Glad to see all my favorite fans of strange details came around for this one, because it's not for everyone.

Thank you all. 8^)
