Rebuilding national dignity and sanity is a tall order, and can happen only with everyone's participation and care. There is no going back, just forward one step at a time.

ReplyDeleteAs I watched the glowing, exuberant faces of citizens celebrating last night on TV, I couldn't help but think... oh, what wonderful things we can accomplish with a hopeful, expectant citizenry excited about helping make this country better. I was moved by Obama's speech but I was absolutely humbled and graced by the sheer outpouring of love and support from the country. It's a beautiful thing!

ReplyDeleteGreat photo of what appears to be a frosty morning in Willits. When I was a kid, that photo would have been filled with cattle. The calves would have been bawling for the moms nourishment, and the sound of chainsaws and logging trucks would have filled the valley, and the slight tinge of wood smoke from that mornings warming fires would have wafted through the canyon. Prosperity and progress was the plan that they had back then. Now, there is to many people to make progress. Strange how that happens…
