Junior Horsemen's Playday


Saturday's event was fun for kids of all ages, and the horses seemed to enjoy it too. It was hard to pick just one Daily Photo image, but I think this spontaneous embrace showing the bond between rider and horse says it all.

What I mostly saw was timed sprinting, and I wasn't close enough, or expert enough to get good competition shots, but the spectators had me busy. Click here for additional horsey photos of the event on my overflow blog.

    That sounds like a fantastic day.
    I remember how much I loved riding a horse when I was a child. It was a fantastic feeling of adventure and freedom.

    That's a really sweet moment. Good capture!
    I've never ridden a horse, but I can imagine hanging onto the horses's neck wondering how the h#ll I got up there. :O

    Rose - thank you. I used to take English style riding lessons as a girl too, but I never had my own horse. And don't worry, my name gets mangled all the time.

    I grew up in Brazil where horse riding lessons were unheard off.
    It was just a natural path for someone living in the country like me.
