Also Born To Be Wild

A pair of house sparrows found some prime nesting real estate - safe from predators, available (or made available by kicking someone else out), and gosh darn pretty. It even comes with a handy landing pad for waiting one's turn.

  2. This looks like modern art. These birds like minimalist architecture, it seems.

  3. Looks like a dryer vent. If anyone ever washes their clothes, these guys are in for a rude surprise

  4. I think it's not quite that bad, Steve. It's a commercial building (you can see its north side behind the motorcycles below), so this is probably the lavatory fan vent alongside the septic vent (the perch).

  5. Neat! I agree with Steve though, and I hope it isn't a dryer vent!

  6. Nice capture.
We had them try to nest in our kitchen exhaust vent but luckily I caught them before they started to build. I covered the vent with a piece of chicken wire to keep them out.

  7. It's a really nice capture (I admit to have enlarged the photo because I wasn't able to understand...)
